The charm of Sommerhausen’s old town centre lies in the high site density that partly even goes back to the Middle Ages. “Old” Sommerhausen is still surrounded by a nearly completely intact town wall, while the development areas are situated on the slopes of the vineyards or to the south in the valley. Streets and alleys in the old town are often quite narrow so that cars parked there can obstruct traffic. This often leads to troublesome situations, also for pedestrians. Therefore, the whole old town is a ”no parking” zone. There are only some short-term parking spaces in the main street. Nearly all hotels and restaurants in the old part of the town have got their own car parks. If this is not the case, it is permitted to park the car briefly for loading and unloading. Please do observe the parking restrictions. There is sufficient parking space outside the old town. From the car parks, it is only a few minutes’ walk to your destination.
